If ASAP client was previously installed on your workstation and you install ASAP client over that old copy, you must do the following in order to pickup new EDL entity and attribute EDL settings. Note if you perform the steps in Post-Install section II below, any old EDL settings will be lost. If you want to save your prior EDL settings perform the steps in Post-Install section I below. Post-Install section I - How to Save CUSTOM EDL settings ====================== Select FILE... Export EDL ... to export your Entity, Attribute, and Data settings for the current ASAP environment. Note FILE... EXPORT EDL ... menu items on the ASAP Browse window are disabled by default since access to the EDL IDE (Interactive Development Environment) is considered to be an advanced feature. The EDL IDE is typically used by application and system programmers rather than operators or analysts. You can enable EDL menu items by doing the following: 1. Select View... Options... from the ASAP Browse window 2. Select the Entity Tab of the ASAP Properties window 3. Click the EDL file name at the bottom of the Entity Property sheet 4. Check the "Entity Definition Language - Interactive Development Environment" checkbox 5. Click OK. When you select the Export EDL menu item, a dialog box will appear prompting you for which entity properties you would like to export. When you click OK, ASAP will generate EDL source for your current environment and display that source in the EDL IDE window. You can then save the EDL for later use or reference by yourself, or by another person on another computer. Run ASAP Client and click the SETUP button 2. From the main graph window, select VIEW... OPTIONS... 3. Click the GENERAL tab of the ASAP Properties window 4. Click the CLEAR REGISTRY button 5. When "DO YOU WANT TO CLEAR ALL REGISTRY SETTINGS?" appears, click the YES button. ASAP will shutdown, and when you restart ASAP client, it will pickup the latest factory EDL settings. [V03] New Notify control panel Notify Content Report options allow extreme customization of reports sent via email, webpage, or phone. The ASAP Notify control panel Content tab provides 16 new controls that allow you to provide a wide-range of report customization of ASAP HTML reports. [V03] New Notify ROOT FILE and SHELL FILE fields on the Notify control panel Content tab allow ASAP HTML reports to be automatically included and dynamically run with local or remote websites. The two new fields labeled SHELL File and ROOT File allow ASAP HTML Reports to be integrated in the following ways: 1) with another local management machine website 2) to operate as a standalone ASAP website 3) to be integrated with remote proxy websites 4) to be integrated with other OM frameworks such as HP Systems Insight Manager. [V03^AAN] SYMPTOMS: Previously ASAP SETUP.EXE would not install on 64-bit versions of Windows 7, 2008, Vista, or XP. CONDITIONS: Windows 7, 2007, Vista, or XP 64-bit versions. LIKELIHOOD: Likely FIX-INFO: Prior versions of the ASAP Client Setup.exe were built with a version of InstallShield that did not support 64-bit Windows. The ASAP Client Setup.exe 3.2.2 and later is built using the latest version of InstallShield. (SOLN 10-110826-9398) 2. [V03^AAN] SYMPTOMS: Previously CSG 3.3.22 did not support SSL communications. LIKELIHOOD: Likely FIX-INFO: CSG 3.3.22 (28 February 2011) now supports NonStop SSL. (SOLN 10-110608-7602) 3. [V03^AAN] SYMPTOMS: Previously selecting an object in the Open Enterprise Management gateway (OEM) did not always show object details in ASAP Client. CONDITIONS: The first time the OEM gateway is started for a given instance of the ASAP Client. LIKELIHOOD: Likely FIX-INFO: Previously the OEM Popups classes where not defined for the first instance of the OEM gateway. Subsequent instances worked. Now all instances have OEM Popup class callbacks defined. (No SOLN) 4. [V03] SYMPTOMS: Previously if 2D graph type and only one object was graphed, the attribute color could be black instead of the associated state color. This issue has been fixed and is actually a bug in the Graphics-Server control itself. This was fixed by using a different color addressing mode. (SOLN 10-080407-2170) 5. [V03] SYMPTOMS: Previously if the ASAPMAIL server log file exceeded 64kb of log data, only the first 64kb was displayed. Now the full log is displayed and it also auto updates whenever the log changes while viewing. (SOLN 10-080407-2174) 6. [V03] SYMPTOMS: Previously the NOTIFY SHORT check box on the ASAP Notify control panel displayed the PC name + session information even when SHORT was checked. This problem has been corrected. (SOLN 10-080407-2176) 7. [V03] SYMPTOMS: Previously if there was no data for the last entity enabled the removed object housekeeping might not occur in the OIL/OEM. This problem has been corrected. (SOLN 10-080407-2177) 8. [V03] SYMPTOMS: Previously the communications I/O datastreams might add spurious characters to the end of an I/O so that the data triggers "+" and "" might not be detected.
